We used Hylton Ross for our transfers to the airport and also for a full day guided tour. My wife and I had full day tour for Table Mountain and Robben Island. Robby was our guide and I have to say he was so friendly and accommodating. The lift up to Table Mountain wasn't open initially, so he took us to signal Hill, then down into Bo-Kaap, to and art shop and let us walk around a bit. He kept his eye on the lifts and when they opened, we headed up. Unfortunately in the afternoon, The boat to Robben Island wasn't running due to weather, so instead Robby took us to the Groot Constantia Landgoed Estate where we did some wine tasting and a cellar tour instead. Robby's ability for quick thinking of what to do in the event of these two, somewhat unreliable, activities being cancelled was top class and saved the day. Thanks Robbie! I would recommend Hylton Ross if you want a guided tour!

We finally got to come to Africa in June 2021 after a year delay due to Covid. We had two full days in Cape Town. Stanton Forsyth, our tour guide was absolutely fabulous! He picked us up at our hotel both days and knew the city and the cape area very well. We can tell how much he loves his job. He was knowledgeable, thorough and helpful in so many ways. We learned so much about Cape Town and more. We loved all his stories and have great memories now thanks to him. He always seemed to know where to be and when and timed the weather perfectly. He always had a plan when some places were closed due to Covid and the plans he made for us were perfect. We loved driving down to the Cape of Good Hope, hiking at Cape Point, eating at Bertha's, seeing the penguins, going to Kirstenbosch, going to the Top of Table Mountain, and enjoying some local cuisine at Bo Kaap Kombia's. He even timed watching paragliding and seeing rainbows perfectly for us. Even my two kids never got bored and loved it! Hylton Ross hired the perfect guide. We hope to be back and will ask for him when we come.

I recently enjoyed a full-day custom tour covering the city (including Table Mountain) and Cape Point. My driver/guide, Salome, was right on time, and gave me a brilliant day. She was friendly, honest and endearing, while all the while being very informative about her city, the region, and life in South Africa both during Apartheid and in the time since. She was a real pro. In no time, I felt like I had made a new friend. She was also flexible in considering my interests and priorities, which I appreciated very much, so we could make the best use of time. It was a full day, but I returned to my hotel very pleased and well satisfied with the way I was introduced to this beautiful and fascinating city and region. On the first day it was raining. We still had our tour of Kirstenboch Gardens too make best use of the time. The grounds were slippery when wet. Though my husband fell twice, our guide Terrence was very attentive to him, to make sure he didn't get hurt. (At first I thought I heard his name was Clarence, and he was my Christmas angel from "It's a wonderful life.) When we came back, he showed us (as a surprise) the noonday guns. Later we toured the waterfront area. The 2nd day, the weather was better and we drove to Cape Point and also saw the penguins at Boulder and ate lunch at a restaurant near there. On the way back, we saw Table Mountain. The 3rd day, we had a half day tour of two wineries. Later, when Terrence escorted us to the airport, he asked us which bag we packed the wine in. He got the airline to mark it fragile, although he had to bring it to the oversize luggage counter to do so. He was very attentive to us at the airport coming and going.

Hylton Ross took us on a number of tours, as well as being our company of choice for hotel / airport transfers. If you are lucky enough to get ‘Z’ as your driver, you are in good hands. What a character!
